Make this Mexican Hot Chocolate to drink with your Mexican Brownies. This is the perfect decadent sipping treat when you need something to warm your body and spirits! The chocolate and spices are delicious together. This is an adult version of a kid’s classic and perfect for a Cinco de Mayo Brunch.
2 cups milk or non-dairy milk substitute (I LOVE the So Delicious Vanilla Coconut Milk but you can use rice milk, soy milk, hemp milk, etc…)
4 ounces semisweet or bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Dash of cayenne
In a small saucepan bring the milk to a simmer over medium heat. Whisk in chocolate and continue to cook until chocolate is melted.
Remove from heat and whisk in cinnamon, vanilla and cayenne. Makes two servings. Top with a dash of cinnamon or whipped cream!
